The state minister in the office of the prime minister for Luwero triangle and Rwenzori region Hon Alice Kaboyo has donated atractor to the Luwero veterans as away of helping farmers to use them on their plantations, other than using human labour which takes alot of time.
While speaking to the veterans and other people who attended the function at Ngoma subcounty headquarters in Luwero, Minister Alice Kaboyo cautioned veterans that the tractors are offered to help farmers especially the poor sothat they can improve on their farming and yield more from their produce. She asked them to make good use of the tractors so that they fulfil their objectives.
About the issue of water scarcity for farmers in Luwero, the minster has promised to work together with the minstry of works to dig dams sothat that farmers can get water for irritating their crops and for their animals as well. However she has encouraged people to grow trees in their areas as away of preserving the environment.
Mp for Nakaseke North Hon Nyongore Enock added his voice on those appreciating the minister and commended her for the support she has offered to Nakaseke after they expressed the challenges they are going through, noting support towards the areas of Ngoma, Butalango, Katooke and others. He appreciated the minister for the school that is being constructed in the area which he says is aimed at improving the education within the area.
He as well asked the minister to convey his sincere appreciation towards the president for always thinking about developing Luwero through strategic interventions that has deleloped the area.
The Woman Mp for Nakaseke district Sarah Najjuma suggested that the money for the micro projects should be given to people through their Saccos so that it can be put to use fairly, she arged the veterans to make good use of the tractors that have been donated to them for their own development.
The CAO for Nakaseke district Kato Ramanathan extended gratitude towards the minister of Luwero triangle appreciating the support she has all along been offering them such as the 467 million shillings from her ministry last year, 276 million for the school in Kapeeka, noting that the tractor that has been donated today is the 3rd one after the 2 which were delivered by honorable
Katayite, among others, and arged the veterans to form a committee to manage and take care of the tractor that has been donated by the minister, sothat it can be mantained and be useful to the veterans.
The national chairman for veterans Haji Edirisa Ssedunga commended the president of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the construction of the bridges such as Kyoga bridge, the bridge from kafu to Masindi, Mijeera bridge among others, which he says has eased transport in such areas.
