Moyor Ndejje division in Makindye, an educator ( teacher) Suleiman Ssejjengo has on Wednesday expressed his sincere gratitude towards the tremendous work done by Fellow educators and country men, to see off the Primary Leaving Exams being done well and the on going UCE.
Ssejjengo who through a message on his social media platforms also expressed anger about the way the children tought and examined
“I hereby congratulate you upon the completion of PLE and or UCE. not that i praise these examinations, but the agony created during the exercise cant leave teachers, learners and parents the without effect, some schools have subjected the non candidate classes to allow space to strangers who come in to invigorate, supervise or monitor the exercise, government has spent huge sums of money to facilitate the intimidating exercise at the expense of our health and education,”he said.
“I candidly need some to convince me on how the teaching and learning that has taken place in the 7 or 4 years can be successfully assessed in the 4 subjects with in two days and 10 subjects for UCE ,help me to know how the 3 domains that are developed in schools are assessed in these examinations, ” he asserted.
“Children are now waiting to see their grades following the results from these examinations that were done when some are intimidated, sick, or facing emotional and situational challenges, dont ne suprised to see your best child in music ,sports ,Swahili or other co curricular being ungraded for failing to satisfy the examiner of the four or ten subjects, “he noted.
The superiors will start character assassinating teachers who have not managed to produce first grades much as these candidates have always excelled in other co curricular activities, no body will mind about the other challenges teachers go through while teaching eg, children who lack scholastic materials like Geometry sets, books, pens ,big enrollments in class, children who dont take midday meals etc,”he noted.
Teachers who have devotedly helped children to develop they cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains which can open opportunities for learners to exploit their talents a d other capabilities that are essential in the development of our National as well as job creation have been totally frustrated by the UNEB mission, this has hindered the achievement of the National education goals as well as the education international objec,”he added.
Suleiman Ssejjengo is a teacher by professional, who practiced since 1990s in several schools like Lubugumu UMEA, Hassan Trabi, Kazo P/S among others before joining politics in 2015 where he contested and won Ndejje division mayorship in the 2016 general election.
