Wakiso Giants will be hoping for revenge when they host table leaders KCCA in the Second Round opener at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakissha, the Purple Sharks lost 3-2 in the first leg fixtureaway at Lugogo.

Then, Midfielder Ashraf Mugume came off the bench to score a brace while Geoffrey Wasswa added one to power the Kasasiro boys past Wakiso Giants.

Goals from Owen Kasule and a late penalty from Tom Masiko couldn’t rescue the Purple Sharks.

But Coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda, who was taking on the team for the first time then, has turned things around at the club.

And the Purple Sharks produced the most entertaining brand of football in the league in the first round.

But the architect of that good football was Ibrahim Kasule, who has since moved on for greener pastures.

The visitors on the other hand, had a shaky start from there after, but later on stabilized and got points on board.

The Lugogo side are top of the table, and are strong contenders to win their 14th-league crown.

“We expect to face stiff resistance, being hosted by a team in fourth is a tricky fixture,” KCCA coach Morley Byekwaso said.

“From the top to the bottom you can see that there is no big margin. The league has been tough, we need to go there knowing that we have to fight so much and play our best football to see that we come back victorious.

“We respect them but don’t fear them, they are a good side and you remember they played better football when we beat them here. We will not allow them do things that will trouble us.”

KCCA are powered by the resigning of former left fullback Mustafa Kizza, who returns at the club after stints in MLS and Portugal.

Wakiso Giants will miss the trio of Titus Ssematimba, Ronald Madoi and Apollo Kagogwe who are with Uganda Hippos tea preparing for AFCON U20

New signing Paul Willa in line for his debut while Lincoln Mukisa’s license is still pending.

For KCCA, Ashraf Mugume, Julius Poloto and Denis Iguma are unavailable with injuries

Mustafa Kizza will make his second return at the club while Defender Peter Magambo who missed the first round, will await a little longer due to documentation issues
