The Taekwondo National team is on a non- residential training for the All African games, which will take place starting from 8, March in Accra, Ghana.
The team which is comprise of 16 players, is undergo non- residential training at CSCA Taekwondo gym at Kisugu.
Today, morning the Taekwondo executive and officials from Korean embassy visited the team at Kisugu and give out training gadgets to the players.
According to Marvin Baryaruha , Taekwondo president, confirmed that the Taekwondo National team ,which last participated in the All African games in 2011, which were held in Mozambique, Maputo will this time participate in this edition in Accra, Ghana but the NCS have confirmed taking all 8 players to Ghana but we are doing everything possible to get funds to facilities the remaining 8 players.
The president, went on to say that the team which was in non-residential training for three weeks, is expected to enter residential training next week at a place not yet confirmed.
According, to Ismail Bumba, vice-president of Uganda Taekwondo federation argued the players to perform well in the forthcoming tournament.
Yadviga Novak, the director of CSCA Taekwondo gym ,who gave the training facilities free of charge to the National team, said that they are happy to be part of those who helped the National team for their preparations .
Seynghee Ye, second secretary to Ambassador of Korea, believed that the team will perform very well.
The 16 players are, Christopher Mugweri in Light weight ,Amina Namutosi in fin weight, Rebecca Among in Light weight, Eunusi Akello in Feather weight, Faith Adye in Fly weight, Emma Hahumi ,Farouk Ogwal in Feather weight, Oswaludo Ocira, Ivan Opio, Sam Odongo, Amina, Kulanima Wakrosi.
Karim Mulwana, who is the coach, said that the team is in good shape and they expect all medals from the tournament.
The Taekwondo, argued to all sports lovers to come on board and help them by funding the National team.
