The Archbishop of the church of Uganda His Grace Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu has cautioned people to try as much as they can to engage in holy marriage as it is one of the ways to fight against Homosexuality.
He noted this in Lugazi Archdeaconry, mukono Diocese as he was the chief celebrant on the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Lugazi Archdeacon Ven Can Edward and Harriet Balamaze at Mehta stadium in Lugazi municipality.
His Grace Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu commended the government for standing firm against Homosexuality and arged it to emulate the church which sustains itself other than depending on conditional support, siting the world bank which stopped the support it was giving to Uganda after signing the anti homosexuality bill.
He noted that if the country fights hard against corruption where money is being misused by the minority group, the country can sustain itself without depending on external support.
At the same function, the Bishop of Mukono Diocese the Rt.Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo commended the couple for respecting God and putting him first in their marriage and appreciated them for serving the Lord.
The state minister for finance Amos Lugoloobi has extended gratitude towards the couple for being a good example to the christians in Mukono Diocese and other people.
Ssekiboobo Elijah Boogere Lubanga thanked the couple for being together and respecting their marriage. He arged parents to be careful with their children during this time of the holidays, and encouraged them to grow enough food sothat they can feed their families and sell some to fight against poverty among themselves.
The couple, Ven Can Edward and Harriet Balamaze appreciated the christians who have supported them during the time they have been with them in their service and appreciated God for being with them until this time.
This function was attended by Bishops such as the Luwero diocese caretaker Bishop James William Ssebaggala, the 3rd retired Bishop of Mukono Diocese Bishop Eria Paul Luzinda, the retired Bishop of Central Buganda Bishop Jackson Matovu, Archdeacons, priests, department heads in the Diocese, politicians, among others.
