The Archbishop of the church of Uganda His Grace Samuel Steven Kazimba Mugalu challenged church ministers to work towards continuing with their education as a way of improving on their ministry and acquire more skills to protect the church and serve the lord.
The Most Rev Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, the nineth Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda revealed this at the thanksgiving service for Rev Dr Waswa Asaph Ssenoga who graduated with a PhD in Philosophy of Theology at Uganda Christian University.
While speaking to the people who attended the function at Bishop Ssebaggala Synod Hall, Mukono and Archbishop Kazimba said, it is time for ministers to continue their education and specialization in order to take the Church forward and help people who are deviating from the theme.
Meanwhile, Ssalongo Kato Walusimbi said that as the Walusimbi family are very happy because this is the first PhD and encouraged other children not to despise education but to work hard to achieve what they want.
The Internal Auditor of Mukono Diocese, Rev Dr. Waswa Asaph Ssenoga, revealed the expectations of the churches in the Diocese of Mukono such as improving their financial management so as to further promote development in the grassroots Church.
The service was attended by the Dean of the School of Theology and Divinity of Uganda Christian University, Rev Canon Prof Christopher Byaruhanga, the Diocesan Treasurer, Rev Roggers Kityo, the Executive Director, Words of Hope Radio Ministry who is the Priest of the Cathedral, the Walusimbi Family, Clergy and God’s people.
