His majesty was welcomed by the team incharge of the reconstruction work being led by their chief leader David Nkalubo.

Amidst the warm welcome, His Majesty started by visiting the Muzibuazaalampanga house and performed all the rituals as the Chief leader for the reconstruction team introduced to Him the members of the team then reported to him how far they have gone in doing the reconstruction work.

The Kabaka commended the work that is being done and expressed hope that the work will be completed soon.
It should be remembered that the Kasubi Masiro Tombs caught fire in March 2010 and it was written on the list of the endangered cultural sites in Africa by UNESCO.

However, in September last year, the Kasubi Tombs was removed from the list of endangered cultural heritage sites in Africa, this was revealed during the meeting for the 21 member states of the world’s heritage committee meeting in Saudi Arabia where the Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga represented Buganda Kingdom.
