In a letter dated 4 September 2023, the Catholic church in Uganda has warned the church and the general public about the man Francis Xavier Luyinda who claims to be a catholic priest and goes on to perform church activities on behalf of the catholic church.

This warning came from Bishop of Lugazi diocese Rt. Rv. Christopher Kakooza who noted that Luyinda who claims to have been ordained as a Deacon in Cameroon is not supposed to perform any duty for the catholic church and for now, they are waiting for an official message from the Uganda Episcopal conference to highlight more about this.

As the official message from the Uganda Episcopal Conference awaits, the message that came from the  president of the National Episcopal conference of Cameroon, the Archbishop of Bamenda Andrew Nkeya revealed that from Luyinda’s photos that were sent to him during inquiry, the Bishop who performed the ordination is not a catholic Bishop.

“The said ordination was not valid, Luyinda Francis Xavier is not a catholic priest.” He emphasized.

He added that there are many Bishops of that kind in Cameroon who cause confusion. The church expressed that this should be enough information for now, as the country awaits official communication from the Uganda Episcopal conference.

It has been revealed that Luyinda, born in the Diocese of Lugazi was in a seminary but the Bishop did not ordain him as a deacon for the reasons well known to the Bishop himself. When he was not ordained as a deacon, he fled to Cameroon and found a false catholic Bishop who ordained  him.

During all these allegations, Bishop Christopher Kakooza wrote to the National Episcopal conference of Cameroon inquiring about the bishop who ordained Luyinda and he  was informed that, the  Bishop has nothing to do with the catholic church of Cameroon because they don’t consider him a catholic bishop.

Bellow is the copy of a letter from Lugazi diocese:

The Archbishop of Bamenda in cameroon Andrew Nkeya emphasised to Bishop Kakooza that the so called Bishop is not known in the Catholic church of cameroon and noted that many bishops of that kind exist in Cameroon.

Bishop Kakooza therefore warns the public about the activities that Luyinda performs on behalf of the catholic church that its is on his own, but the church doesn’t recognize whatever he does.
