The dance sport national team, the Dance Cranes was officially flagged off to Rabat, Morocco, for the African continental breaking championship from 12 – 13 May 2023.
The tournament will doubles as an Olympics qualifier for Paris 2024 Olympic games.
The flagging ceremony was held at their offices in Mengo. On the occasion, the Dance sport federation was represented by their general secretary Barnabas Ssebuyungo, Sarah Nankya and James Kasumba, represented NCS.
Kasumba,who represented NCS,said that the government has released 62 million shilling to Dance Sport federation towards their preparation for the tournament and we hope, they will come back as winners.
Sarah Nankya, a representative from NCS, said it sound good to hear a young sport like this one to have a professional player in the name of Fahadhi Kiryowa.
The team will leave today to Kenya,where they will connect to France and to Morocco.
The team comporises of 8 members and they are;
Head of delegation –Barnabas Ssebuyungo
Coach –Edrine Serwakulya
Players,Ronald Ndawula, Samuel Ziraye, Steven Opio, Fahadhi Kiryowa, Faruk Luleti and Frank Kimuli.
Uganda’s Mark Kaweesi will be among the 9 International breaking judges selected to adjudicate at this continental championship.
