The Katikkiro Inaugurates New Buganda land board

The Buganda prime minister Owek Charles Peter Mayiga has commended the former buganda land board which was led by Martin Seremba Kasekende for the work well done towards serving the kingdom.

While inaugurating the new Buganda land board  in Bulange Mengo, the Katikkiro noted that the period of time the former board has spent serving, has been full of achievements which according to him was away of fulfilling the Kabaka’s call.

Among the former Buganda land board achievements, the Katikkiro sited the construction of Muganzirwazza building in Katwe, the board set new offices in Masengere which were operating in Bulange for a period of time, it is constructing houses in Kigo, and also constructed the residential houses in Sentema that the Kabaka officially opened ahead of celebrating His 30th coronation Anniversary, the board has as well led to right procedures to follow on Kabaka’s land such as Kyapa mu Ngalo system, and has been performing well the issues concerning land in the kingdom. He has extended his gratitude towards the whole board for the great job well done.

He has welcomed the newly appointed board which include some few members from the former board. He challenged them to work harder adding on what the former board has done and should even achieve more than that.

He has challenged them to serve the people transparently and with trust but not working in anyone’s favor at the expense of others. He noted that they should follow and respect all people they serve equally without any form of descrimination.

The new appointed Chairman Francis Kamulageya has commended the king for giving them chance to serve Him and pledged on behalf of the the new committee to serve and fulfill the Kabaka’s expectations, adding on what the previous committee has done.

He added that they are starting with following the strategic plan given to them to look through the board’s service towards the people who are occupying the Kabaka’s land through transparency so that people are satisfied with their service.

He explains that they are to work hard to see that the relationship between Buganda land board and other kingdom departments  together with the central government departments is good, so that they work with them to develop the kingdom.

He urged people in Uganda and Buganda kingdom to know the reason and purposes of the Buganda land board towards the kingdom and the country at large. He adds that the land that BLB takes over belongs to the King who loves the people occupying that land to work for their development. And urged people to get proper documents for their land so that they can avoid the consequences of occupying land without proper documents.
