Teso region to hosts for the National and FEASSSA Games as USSSA pre-AGM EXCO meeting confirms Bukedea comprehensive, Amus College the 2024 host

The school owned by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, Bukedea Comprehensive and that Kachumbari Constituency MP Hon. Patrick Nsiagi, Amus College have been selected to host FEASSSA Games in 2024.

The decisions have been taken during the pre-AGM EXCO meeting that convened today, Friday October 13th 2023 at USSSA offices on GNS Hotel building, Old Kampala.

The meeting was chaired by the organizer’s Federation of Uganda Secondary School Sports Association(USSSA) and the East Africa Secondary School Sports Association(FEASSSA) President Mugisha Justus.

This followed the decision taken by FEASSSA Executive convened in Rwanda during the this year’s games held in Huye that granted Uganda as the host of the 2024 East Africa Schools games after the completion of the 2023 edition.

Jinja SSS and Jinja College were the first to submit their bid under Busoga Region but will now now wait for another year around as the Bukedea joint bid of Bukedea Comprehensive and Amus College convinced USSSA and FEASSSA inspection team

USSSA also confirmed that Namilyango College is on standby if these two Teso Region schools fail on the way.

This will be the first time for Teso region to host FEASSSA games, Uganda is the overall champion of the games after emerging victorious in Rwanda.

Meanwhile, Masaka Secondary School has been selected to host the 2024 Football Boys Championship, while the Fresh Diary games will be at Ndejje Secondary School.

Jinja SSS and Jinja College will host the Elite Secondary Schools Championship.

For over a period of time there has been tremendous increase in number of schools that participate in USSSA and FEASSA organized tournaments.

Participation is open to all registered Secondary Schools and Students within the age bracket of 14 – 20years old.

USSSA organize the games in two categories; Ball games I and Ball games II which all qualify for FEASSSA tournament.

  • Football girls
  • Hockey (B + G),
  • Table tennis (B + G)
  • Badminton (B + G)
  • Lawn tennis (B + G),
  • Rugby 15s (Boys)),

2 – BALL GAMES II

  • Handball (B + G)
  • Volleyball (B + G)
  • Netball (Girls)
  • Athletics (B + G)
  • Rugby 7s (Boys))
  • FOOTBALL BOYS (Copa Coca Cola)
  • SWIMMING Championship.
