Tulibagenyi to officiate Zone 3 Boxing championship

Tulibagenyi is set to officiate Zone 3 Boxing championship in Cameroon.

Uganda Boxing federation president Moses Muhangi has confirmed that Uganda Boxing Referee and Judge Tulibagenyi Steven will be among the RJs to officiate the Zon 3 boxing championship.

The Cameroon hosted Championship is scheduled for 27th January to 2nd February and most of the countries to participate in this championship are set to use the it as a preparation for Africa Olympic qualifiers.

Uganda was among the invited boxing nations but failed to honour the invitation due to inadequate funds.

Despite failing to honour the invitation, Uganda will be represented by RJ Tulibagenyi.

Tulibagenyi started refereeing in 1992, but this will be the first time to Judge Boxing outside East African boundaries.

We have managed to speak to RJ “I am living on Monday for Cameroon to judge Zone 3 boxing championship if everything moves well. this opportunity is a pleasure, I will do everything possible to post a very good performance, I will make our President Moses Muhangi proud this chance he has given, I will fight to gain more reputation for Uganda” Tulibagenyi while speaking about his 28 year experience of Boxing officiating he said that this opportunity is a stepping stone, already I have had chances in East Africa with most recent in Burundi at the first East Africa community games in 2018 and I am planing to go star 2 training, despite having served close to 30 year Tulibagenyi still hopping for more 20 year in serving Boxing as RJ” Tulibagenyi is going to follow the footstep of Bob Kasule and Agong David who officiated at Olympics game 1988 in Soul South Korea, Muhenda James who officiated World Military games 2004 in USA, Achiga Steven who officiated World Women Boxing Championship 2017 in India, Africa Youth Championship 2018 and All Africa games 2019 in Morocco. Despite Uganda has had RJs in international event Tulibagenyi is going to be the third RJ to cross East Africa Boundaries following Achiga and Muhenda.
