As the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) heads towards its parliamentary primaries slated for September 4th, the party’s Electoral Commission (EC) has warned candidates that intend to cause havoc during the process.
The NRM Electoral CommissionChairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi says that they have already established places that are hotspots for violence during the primary elections and the candidates have been warned to be withdrawn from the race in case they are implicated.
Tanga says some of the hotspots include districts like Sembabule, Mityana, Hoima, Sheema, Kassanda, Busia, Tororo, Kakumiro and Kashongi Constituency in Kiruhura district among others.
Tanga further challenged excuses of missing registers in most villages saying its only six villages that have no registers of which their issues are being handled.
NRM has a total of 151 electoral districts, 353 Constituencies and 6,975 villages.
