Two people have today lost their lives in an accident that has occurred on Masaka road at Nakigudde village, near Mpanga forest next to Dashan petro station in Mpigi district.
This accident took place at around 8 am in the morning in the same area where the former Bukomansimbi women MP Susan Namaganda died in an accident in 2015.
The two vehicles involved in this accident were Toyota Town Ace number UBL 045K which was coming from Masaka towards Kampala which encountered vehicle Alphard number UBE 778Z which was coming from Kampala towards Masaka and collided, which led to the death of two, and others went with serious injuries.
Both of the deceased were in the Hairet including its driver who has not been identified and the second one being identified as Brian Ndugwa aged 24, a resident of Kikungwe village Kabonera subcounty in Masaka district. The bodies have been taken to the mortuary in Gombe hospital.
The eye witnesses say that the Town Ace driver who was heading to Kampala was over speeding, wanted to over take the Sino truck carrying sand and he had a head on collision with Toyota Alphard which was also over speeding as well.
The regional police immediately arrived and took the bodies to Gombe hospital, and the injured to double Cure Medical Hospital Mpigi.
The police spokesperson in Katonga Region Lydia Tumushabe has confirmed the accident and cautioned drivers to drive with care to avoid reckless driving consequences.
