U-18 Women’s National Team Beats Byafaayo Select in Practice Match

The U-18 Women’s National Team defeated Byafaayo Select 3-2 in a practice match on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

St. Noa Girls SS forward Miriam Ayoo and Uganda Martyrs striker Brenda Munyana scored in the first half to give the National Team a commanding 2-0 lead.

However Rines SS WFC striker Jesca Namanda pulled one back for Byafaayo Select in the second half, before Asubo Gafford Ladies FC teenager Zaitun Namaganda equalized for Byafaayo Select to make it 2-2.

Kampala Queens new signing Hadijah Nandago scored the winning goal for the U-18 Women’s National Team in the final minutes of the game.

The victory was a good warm-up for the team as they prepare for the forthcoming CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship, which will take place between June 24 and July 8 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The team is coached by Ayub Khalifah and is made up of players from schools and clubs across Uganda.

The CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship is a regional tournament that features teams from East Africa.

The tournament is a good opportunity for the young players to test their skills against other top teams in the region.

The team is hoping to win the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship to take place between 24th June and 8th July 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya..
