UFRA Rewards Former Referees as their AGM ended successfully

Uganda Football Referees Association (UFRA) held their annual general meeting at Hotel La Grande in Bwaise, Kampala on Friday, 2nd October 2020.

This was the 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) since 2013.

The well attended assembly was chaired by the chairman, UFRA Ronnie Kalema and graced by the FUFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Edgar Watson Suubi among other delegates.

This was the 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) since 2013.

The well attended assembly was chaired by the chairman, UFRA Ronnie Kalema and graced by the FUFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Edgar Watson Suubi among other delegates.

In appreciation for the work done over the years, five former referees Charles Masembe, Agena Adupa, Hassan Basiisa, Edirisa Kiwanuka and Ajab Waiswa were rewarded by the Executive.

‘I am humbled for the plaque presented to me in appreciation of my work as a football referee since 1983 until 1998 when I retired officially. I have continued to serve in different capacities as an assessor and referees’ instructor.’ Kiwanuka disclosed.

The AGM approved a total of Shs. 60,500,000 for the next financial year that will cover several sectors as beginners’ courses, members’ subscriptions, COVID-19 relief fund (second instalment), salary of staff, among others

The Shs.15,000,000 received from FUFA to UFRA as COVID-19 relief fund was also discussed.

This Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held as a constitution requirement leading to the 96th FUFA Ordinary Assembly that will be hosted by Kampala Region Football Association at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi on Saturday, 17th October 2020.
