Uganda Airlines to fly netballers for World Cup

The Uganda Netball Federation – UNF announced on Friday – a partnership with the national flag carriers – Uganda Airlines at a function held on Friday at The She Cranes’ training facility in Nakirebe near Mpigi town.

The declaration came at least three weeks to the throw-off of the Vitality Netball World Cup 2023 – an event where The She Cranes is scheduled to represent the country at its fourth global showpiece appearances in history. The Vitality Netball World Cup 2023 is set for Cape Town – South Africa from July 28 – 6 August.

UNF tweeted: “We’re delighted to inform you that @UG_Airlines is our official Travel partners for #NWC2023.

“This relationship came with cash of Ugx56.34m and tickets. The launch was held this afternoon at ARVS International School – Nakirebe. Thank you National Carriers!”

.Netball has a nice profile – it has a good story in terms of performance globally, in terms of achievement, we might say that it’s the most successful sport in the nation and as Uganda Airlines, we are proud to associate with a successful team,” noted Deo Nyanzi – Uganda Airlines Sales and Marketing Manager.

“On top of financial support, Uganda Airlines has made another contribution to transport part of the team to South Africa and again we have special offers to fans who will be going to South Africa to support our team,” added Nyanzi at a function, which the national flag carrier’s CEO, Jenifer Bamuturaki attended – and promised her company’s continued support towards talented Ugandans.

UNF CEO – Francis Banya praised Uganda Airlines for taking the rightful choice in partnering with The She Cranes – the winning product.

“On behalf of Uganda Netball Federation, I thank Uganda Airlines for making a rightful choice, She Cranes is well known and supported brand globally -we are going to give you visibility that you deserve and going to use the money, effectively,” noted Banya.

The She Cranes will be required to wear jerseys branded with Uganda Airlines logos on match day.

Uganda Airlines joins Plascon Uganda who are The She Cranes kit sponsor.

Uganda is pooled in group D alongside holders – New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago and Singapore.
