The Uganda athletics team has been flagged off to Doha , Qatar to participate in the world championship 2019 to be held from Friday 27 th September to 6th October 2019 .
Uganda will be represented by 22 participants, 12 men and 10 ladies.
These are expected to be the gambassadors good of Uganda, they have divid into two traveling batches. The first a batch comprises of seven people who have been flagged off on Tuesday by NCS official Afande Andrew Sorowen who asked them to go and represent Uganda in the world Athletes championship.
AIGP Andrew Sorowen advised the athletes to have a vision and to be disciplined in the tournament because are the ambassadors of the country.
” I encourage you to go and die for this country and come with medals. Be disciplined, focus on wining, be with a vision and time managers” Afande Sorowen belief them at the flagging off ceremony held at NCS Lugogo today Tuesday 24th September 2019.
However, the National coach, Muhammad Abdullah of the team asserted his readiness
“We spent about two month in residential camp and some athletes participated in the all African games and performed well. So we are well prepared for the championship”.
