Uganda Paralympic Committee (UPC) Successfully hosts the Paralympic Workshop

The two day workshop attracked 13 Countries across the world, Uganda as the hosts, Guinea, Germany, Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Togo, South Africa, Canada, Netherlands, Nigeria, Malawi, Sierra Leone attended the event on Friday.

This is the first ever paralympic workshop held in the country, this started on Friday 1st October 2019 and wil end on tomorrow Saturday at Hotel Africana Kampala.

UPC president, Mpindi Bumali told the press that the workshop will help to create awareness and capacity building to athletes

“This is a great activity for Uganda since it helps out Athletes to get connections with those from other countries.” Workshops like this one create awareness and our athletes get exposed.”

I strongly believe that many people with disabilities and are not involved in sports have gained a lot from this event.”

Natalie du Toit a former South African Olympian, Paralympian Swimmer and a member on the International Paralympic Council believes the workshop will create opportunities and togetherness

“I thank the International Paralympic council and Uganda for this workshop. The event helps athletes to share knowledge and brings togetherness.”

It also helps to create opportunities and how we can help each other.” In Paralympic every sport is different and i believe each country can learn from each other. We all know sports activities unity nations and through this workshop Africa as a continent will come closer to the International Paralympics council.”

The workshop will climax on Saturday 2nd November at Africana
