The state minister for animal industry Bright Rwakirama has revealed that Uganda is set to host a diary conference and exhibition with an aim of  Uganda showing its dairy products to the global audience.

This conference which is to take place between 11th to 15th September is to attract over  400 Diary sector players from around the world. It will also highlight opportunities for Diary sector investment in Africa.

Minister Bright Rwamirama noted that Uganda is looking for space to create more market for its Diary products and to introduce customers to its innovative products, thereby expressing the need for Uganda to show case its diary products to the outside world.

He added that Uganda is expecting to attract investment from the global diary industry thereby securing markets for the diary products from Uganda to the rest of the world, which is an opportunity to increase on the country’s income.

Minister Rwamirana expressed hope that Uganda is to identify trade opportunities and technology transfer from the conference which has been a challenge for the Africa Diary industry to access new technologies that can reduce the cost of milk  production.

The conference will also provide a platform for the African and global dairy communities to discuss and recommend solutions to policy, regulatory, and industry bottlenecks that impede trade in dairy products.

The Africa Dairy Conference and Exhibition is the largest African dairy event organized by the Eastern and Southern African Dairy Association (ESADA). The conference is expected to be a major boost for the Ugandan dairy industry.
