UGANDA TAEKWANDO OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP KICKED OFF IN HIGH GEAR

This year’s edition of Uganda open taekwondo championship started in high gear with excellent performance from competitors . A three day event which will come to climax on Friday,  is held at Sharing youth Centre,  Nsambya and a total of 20 clubs have registered for this year’s edition. Only one foreign club,  Kilfi from Mombasa have taken part but the rest are from Uganda and they include,  CSCA,  Uganda Police,  Prison,  UPDF,  Kampala University,  Nwoya,  Agago,  Lira destiny,  Mbale SS,  Friends,  Jinja, Tororo,  Golden age , Ndejje University and Kampala taekwondo.

Police taekwondo club,  who are the defending champion,  this year they will face challenge of retaining the championship since most of their experienced players are under going police training in Masindi.

There will be prizes for the best men and female team,  best junior team and over all prize plus the medals.

Kick boxing giant,  Titus Tugume ‘Hard Rock’ who is the Kampala University coach,  said that he expects good returns from his fighters and they hope to go back to the campus with the over all trophy.
