The Uganda volleyball federation to host the continental cup round two of Women to be held at White sand beach, Entebbe from 10th – 12th March 2020.
The Women’s National beach volley team advanced to the second of the Olympic qualifiers band be I’ll be competing in group D . Uganda is pitted in the group D, Uganda will encounter with Guinea Conakry, Egypt, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Sam Meya the head coach of the Uganda Women volleyball beach team expose his readiness while addressing the media in the press conference held at National council of sports premises at Lugogo today Friday.
“As we have home ground, we should have advantages. I didn’t know my opponents, especially Egypt, the date are very closure to host but we are going to use hone advantage”, Meya Sam head coach of Women team highlighted. While the President of Uganda volleyball federation, Manda Hadija promise to do well in the tournament.
“We promise to so well in the tournament and I think Uganda will qualify for the finalist. To advance to the second round, the women participated in the first round in Tanzania and emerged third in the pool. The team comprised of peace Busingye, NnungivSaudar, BKauthar Nagoya and Juanita Nabbuto. For this leg of the championship Nnungi is out becausebof a knee injury.
The Men’s team also participated in the first round and emerged 4th in their group, and they didn’t to the second round, the championship which was held at Lido beach Entebbe 18-22nd December 2019.
These continental cup will serves as the qualification of Olympics Tokyo 2020, Japan. There are four groups in Africa, and in each group two teams will qualify for the third round, and the four will battle for the finalist for the ticket for the Olympic.
