Uganda Cranes have qualified for second round of AFCON 2019 for the first time in 41 years congs. Sebastien Desabre coached team managed to get only 4 points from three group stage matches have defeated DRC 2-0 in the first game, drew 1-1 with Zimbabwe in second match and losing 2-0 to hosts Egypt, the results which left the pearl of Africa in second place of group A . Having qualied directly as runners up means that the Cranes will now face Senegalese lions of Telanga on Friday 5th July who also finished second in group D after beating neighbours Kenya 3-0 in their last game to completed the group stages with 6 points. Sadio Mane netted a brace.
Meanwhile Cranes captain Denis Masinde Onyanga will be available for round of 16 game despite injury worries, Onyango stretched out of the pitch during a 2-0 los to Egypt on Sunday which shaw St George short stopper Odongokara Robert coming on to replace but coach Desabre says, it wasn’t injury but flew which had spent two days desturbing him, am sure he is available for our next game on Friday.
