The Fort Portal rally which will be held from Friday August 9th – Sunday August 11th 2024 has been launched today, Thursday August 1st at Silverton gardens,Mengo.
The launch was done by FMU vice president Haji Hamid Gombe who represented FMU president Hon. Jimmy Akena who was engagement somewhere, Gombe urged drivers to market themselves by engaging media people so that they can be promoted.
According to Ssemwanga who is the event clerk of the course (COC), the rally will start on Friday August 9 with scrutineering and then day one will commence on Saturday August 10, with the first car be flagged off at exactly 8:45 am in the morning, the event will claimax with prize giving ceremony on Sunday August 11 after the day two race.
More than 15 rally teams have so far confirmed their participation as entries will be closed tomorrow, Friday August 2nd according to Semwanga the event COC.
Drivers will plant trees to one of the schools in Fort Portal.
