UMEA Solidarity games 2023 championship enters day two, Nkoba Islamic ss, Nganda ss win

As the umea solidarity games 2023 entered day two at Kawanda ss, Kawempe Muslims, Mbogo mixed and Kawanda research centre, schools such as the host, Kawanda ss, Kibuli ss, Kawempe Muslims, Kakungulu Memorial, Kakungulu High and Ngando ss are still performing well in girls football.

Kawempe Muslim ss team A drew with Kawempe Muslim team B 0:0 in group stage as Kakungulu High eliminated Answari in penalty shoot out after a goalless draw in round of 16 in boys football.

Debutants, Nkooba Islamic ss kawempe Tula, registered a fantastic win against Namasumbi although was not enough to secure a place in knockout stages after losing their opening two games, against Green Light High (2:0) and Namagabi ss (1:0).

According to Sulaiman Mugabi, the headteacher at Nkooba Islamic ss, said that, “the boys have tried their best but luck was not on our side, this being our first appearance in that tournament, the future is bright.

Meanwhile, 2019 Netball champions, Ngando ss Wamala Butambala have shown a good start of their title defence when they beat one of the favourites, Gombe ss 36-21 in one the interesting games of the day.

Umea solidarity games continue tomorrow,  Sunday with round of 16 and quarter finals in different discipline , semi finals and finals will be played on monday.
