UMU starts Pepsi University football league on high note.

Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi gets off the mark in a high flying mode with a comfortable 2-0 win over Kumi University.

Defender Joseph Kayondo and Akbal Ssentongo scored in the second half with Kayondo’s goal coming just 5 minutes after the halftime interval while Ssentongo netted his 10 minutes to 90th minutes.

Former champions Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) commenced their 2024/25 Pepsi University Football League (UFL) season o on Thursday 26 September 2024 at Nkozi.

Kayondo scored from direct free-kick in the whereas Ssentongo capitalised on an sloppy defending committed by Muni’s Iddi Abdu as he doubles UMU’s lead.

The 2017 and 2022 winners now lead group E with three points and the group has International University of East Africa (IUEA) and the University of Kisubi (UNIK).

The League is coming back to action on 27 September with two times champions Kampala University will hosting Kampala International University (KIU) Group D in Kibuli at 3pm.
