Pepsi University Football League debutants ISBAT University will be keen on causing an upset against Bishop Stuart University on Thursday in their very first game away in Mbarara.
ISBAT head coach Edwin Oundo has stressed it has been long overdue to form part of the league but is hopeful of a good show at first asking.
“We are eager to play. We have been looking forward, and now that the time is here, we have to go out and show cause,” Oundo told the media.
“My team is young, and the players lack league experience, but we have trained well, and I expect positive results when we go to Mbarara,” Oundo added.
Meanwhile, Bishop Stuart head coach Kwegondeze Karungi has asserted the team will not settle for anything other than three points against the inexperienced ISBAT.
“We have been drawn in a tricky group with only Three teams, so it is important that we get all three points from this game if we are to make it to the knockout stage,” Kwegondeze said.
“We cannot take ISBAT for granted. I believe they are well prepared and looking for a win, but we are also well prepared, and I am confident we shall win at home,” Kwegondeze added.
The two have yet to meet, and tomorrow presents a perfect opportunity for both sides to write history in the tie.
