The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has extended a warm welcome to runners, visitors, and supporters to Kasese for the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon.
The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Kasese’s stunning landscapes and the majestic Rwenzori Mountains provide a unique setting for the marathon.

The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon celebrates resilience, determination, and unity among participants from diverse backgrounds. Since its inception in 2022, the event has promoted health, supported athletes, and raised environmental awareness.
Certified by World Athletics, the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon is expected to attract global participants, further boosting Uganda’s profile in the international running community. According to the organisers, this year’s event will host participants from Uganda and 32 other countries.

According to the organisers, the marathon offers a chance to experience the region’s beauty, including the snow capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and a boat cruise on Lake Edward.
