The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has officially confirmed the date and venue for this year’s Ordinary General Assembly (AGM).
According to a circular dated July 29th, 2024, signed by Chief Executive Officer Mugisha Christopher, the AGM will be held at the Association headquarters found at GNS Plaza at Old Kampala in Kampala region on September 27th, 2024.
Detailed information, including the agenda and meeting documents, will be sent to all USSSA delegates before the event, As per the USSSA constitution, each region will be represented by five delegates.
This representation must include the Chairperson of the region, and at least one delegate must be female. This inclusivity ensures a diverse representation of perspectives in the decision-making process.
The annual general assembly serves as a crucial platform where delegates convene to review the activities carried out in the previous twelve months and to plan for the coming year.
Delegates and other stakeholders are encouraged to forward any proposals they wish to be considered for inclusion in the AGM deliberations. These proposals should be submitted to the USSSA secretariat no later than Tuesday August 20th. This process ensures that all relevant issues and suggestions are discussed during the assembly.
The regions include; Kampala, West Nile, Acholi, Lango, Karamoja, Teso, Bukedi, Busoga, Bunyoro, Rwenzori, Ankole, Kigezi, Wakiso, Masaka, Mpigi, Luwero, Mukono, Bugisu and Sebei.
The AGM provides a vital forum for reviewing previous activity calendar, planning future calendar, receiving accountability as well as passing the budget and addressing the needs of the sports community among other issues.
