Uganda Secondary School sports Association has held draws for Schools teams for Fresh Diary games and Nationals Schools football championship.
The draws that are comprising 160 School teams took place at USSSA offices located at Old Kampala GNS Building and teams drawn for the games that is setting off on Saturday 27 Morning in Ndejje Bombo and in Masaka City seeing students taking action in co- Curricular activities.
The 160 teams are representation Schools from countrywide and 102 teams are for football with Boys category making 64 teams and 48 for girls football.
The more 48 teams are 24 apiece for boys and Girls Basketball.
The Boys National Secondary Schools football championship as a main brand will separate from other Ball game one to take place in Masaka City while other Disciplines like Basketball, Girls Football, Rugby 15s and Racket games are under Fresh Diary games and shall take place in Ndejje Bombo.
Following the draws for the event that shall take action from tomorrow,Friday 26 April to 05 May in Masaka for boys football and Ndejje, Luwero for the Fresh dairy games, Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association President Justus Mugisha has sent a serious warning to Schools that are set to attempt using non bornfied students not to dare.
“We have tried our best to Bornfied students playing in schools sports competition but Schools are very tricky to control some getting 25 year old personnels, it’s totally criminal to impersonate and having double unverrying registration according to the Parliament.
Therefore as the Association we have nothing to do with criminal cases so Police will be working on those cases”
During the games qualification processes allot of schools have been disqualified from the Championships countywide with Boys football having the most issues.
“We did the screening exercise here at office and if a team lost five out of the 22 players (for example in football) that school would be disqualified because it means that team used imposters during the qualifiers. We shall do the more screening as the games go. “USSSA President Justus Mugisha cuationed.
Meanwhile, Fresh Diary USSSA games defending champions St. Mary’s SS Kitende pitted in group A with stubborn teams like Lubiri ss, Janan SS, Iganga ss and hosts Ndejje SS.
Losing the district tittle to St Noa Girls St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende is taming National Championship defence.
Seeing it’s group come true, the Giant school in Sports house will have to control Seroma Christian and Lubiri SS at least to go through group A and reach the last 8.
St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende is expected to face less Challenges from host Ndejje Secondary School, Iganga Secondary School and Janan Secondary School.
It is not expected Wakiso Zone Champion St Noa rematch district final as they are in group D with the likes of Naalya Secondary School, Mvara Secondary School, MaryHill, Mandela Secondary and Elite High School.
Despite being in a look like easy group but they are in the same road with Nabisunsa girls who is Group C favorite.
Group C comprises more teams like Tororo Girls, Jinja Secondary School, Trinity College Nabingo, St Mary’s Rushoroza and immaculate Hearts to make the group also hard.
Once defending Champions overcome group A two top teams in group B will be waiting for them in Qualifiers and Semifinal
