USSSA Elite secondary schools championship.

Defending Champion Kitende dominates day one of the Elite Secondary School championship.

The Elite Secondary school championship started in January last year for the best 12 schools in Copa Coca Cola Championship of the previous year and was won by St Mary’s Kitende.

Today 27 January 2020 has been the say which held the opening of the second edition and last years winner Kitende remianed higher than other Schools. Today Kitende played 2 games and won both of them to go top of group A above Host Old Kampala SS, St Henry Kitovu, Jinja SS St John Mukono, and Dynamic SS. Kitende played the tournament opener which ended 3-0 win over Jinja SS as Captain Najib Yiga, Emanuel Jowanga and Chopra Tumwine all puts their names on Score sheet.

Latter in the Day Kitende returned to the field of play for their second which happened dramaticall as they defeats Dynamic SS 4-2.

The first half end in square 1-1 but second half became more dramatic with Kitende netting twice inside the first ten minutes of the second half before a spectacular finish from Dynamics’ Ssengabo Moses to regain hope of picking a point from the defending champion with standing on 3-2 score but the hope couldn’t last for long because Kitende extended their lead to 4-2 immediately which became the final score. Kitende scored through Captain Najib Yiga, Ashaba Ivan, Star Player Kawooya Andrew and new recruit Emanuel Jowanga as Ssetomero Swabuli and Ssengabo Moses netting for Dynamic SS.

Day one results Boys Football Group A St Mary’s Kitende 3-0 Jinja SS. Dynamic SS 1-2 Old Kampala St John Mukono 1-2 St Henry Kitovu St Mary’s Kitende 4-2 Dynamic SS Old Kampala 2-0 St John Mukono. Group B Royal Giant Mityana 2-0 Kawempe Muslem Standard High Zana 2-0 Uganda Matry’s High School Lubaga, Boston SS 0-1 Kawempe Muslem, Royal Giant Mityana 1-1 Standard High Zana, Uganda Matry’s 0-1 Boston SS. Tomorrow games shall commence in both groups at Old Kampala SS.
