USSSA Football boys champions St. Julian High, partners Ray’s of Grace Academy, Mukono region celebrate first trophy in 22 years

Since 2002 when Naggalama Islamic written history to become the first greater Mukono winners of the then UTV Schools championship
It was the 16th Edition of the Championship played in Soroti where Naggalama Islamic won the championship.


It took 22 years for Greater Mukono to have the next champions of passing through Coca cola period to the third edition of the USSSA boys football Championship where St Julian High School Seeta won the championship.

St Julian defeated Amus College from Bukedea 3-0 in the final played at Mpungu Arena in Masaka on Sunday 5 May 2024.
Under the costady of Coach Felix Ssekabuza’ and his Assistant Michael Kabali, the team which went to Masaka among the lowest odds managed to upset odds.

Following the success story at the 2024 USSSA football boys championship held in Masaka, the debut champions St. Julian High School Mukono had a trophy parade on Monday May 6, arranged from School Campus in Seeta Bukerere touring Mukono Municipality climaxing at Mukono district headquarters to move back to the school”

After celebrations head coach Ssekabuza speaking on the successful mission he stated that “it is great milestone for St Julian and the entire Greater Mukono, for us in the control of the team with are not surprised with the performance posted at Nationals, this team has been together for while and we have been preparing well by doing things in right ways, now I am assuming our the schools football fraternity that we have come this is just a begging you have to expect allot from this team”

Over a decade St Julian schools have been trying and kept believing “we tried and tried but as football is about of friendship we found a friend in Robert Kiwanuka and the friendship led us to a partnership with God’s Grace academy the partnership that yelled success and those players have been together like five years from primary now they are in Senior one, two and very few in upper classes, hopefully we still with them for a while” St Julian Schools Founder Director Jeff Sserunjogi said

Winning this year’s USSSA Boy football championship, St Julian has joined St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende, Amus College and Bukedea Comprehensive to represent Uganda at FEASSA games in late August here in Uganda in Bukedea Zone.
