Today, Thursday June 20th, Kampala Secondary school sports region has organised the boys football U16 qualifier championship hosted Kibuli SS, the tournament attracted six teams that were divided into two groups, A and B where Kibuli SS, Kakungulu Memorial School and St. Janan Luwum SS were pitted in group A and ST. Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High School, Lubiri SS and Mengo SSS were drawn in group B.
The event started with player screening in the morning and then games kicked off. The hosts, Kubuli ss lost the first game 3-0 to St. Janan but recovered with a 1-0 win over arch- rivals Kakungulu Memorial.
St. Andrew started the journey with a 2 all draw with Lubiri ss before securing a 2-0 win over Mengo ss the result that took the to the stage where they have to battle the Kampala rion giants.
Lubiri sec school will be up against St. Janan Luwum sec school in the first semi-final encounter the will take centre stage at exactly 9:00 am at Kibuli ss playgrounds lower pitch while Kibuli ss will tassel it out with St. Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High School Kawala in the second semi-final that will be played at exactly 11:00 am also at Kibuli ss playground lower pitch on Friday 28th June 2024 to decide the two finalists and then the regional champions in that category.
Meanwhile the category will be played on Saturday June 22nd at the same venue while other games that include, Netball, Basketball boys and girls, Handball boys and girls, Volleyball boys and girls will also be organised on Friday June 28th determine the Kampala region national representatives.
Whereas the school will be interested in represent the to the 2024 USSSA Ball Games II championship in the Sport of Beach Soccer for both girls and boys are only required to register the team players on the USSSA portal before June 25th as per the association circular.
