Police on Friday evening arrested veteran journalist Joseph Kabuleta on charges of offensive communication against President Yoweri Museveni.
Mr Kabuleeta was arrested by plain-clothed security personnel from a restaurant at Forest Mall, Lugogo, an act that has since received a backlash from the general public.
Both Charles Twine, the spokesperson of CID and Police spokesperson Fred Enanga confirmed his arrest and detention.
“He has been arrested on offensive communication charges and he has been detained.
Enanga said the self-styled city pastor called the President a thief.
Kabuleeta has been publishing articles on his social media platforms about the succession battle that is raging withing the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
