Viane Sekajugo scored a 90th minute penalty as Wakiso Giants FC defeated Proline FC 2-1 on Sunday in the Uganda Premier League.

The forward had earlier given the Purple the lead in the first half before Bright Anukani levelled matter with a minute to the break.

The win is Wakiso’s 4th of the season and it sees them climb into 6th on the log with 13 points.

For Proline, they remain bottom of the pile with no points after they were docked 6 (points) for failing to honour their fixture at home to SC Villa earlier in the season.

In the game played at Wankulukuku, Wakiso was much changed on the day and struggled to get to grips to Proline’s free flowing passing brand of football.

However, against the run of play, Sekajugo scored the game first goal of the afternoon, netting on 9 minutes after he was teed up by Ivan Kiwewa.

A minute to half time, Anukani pulled Proline level, slotting home a rebound after George Katende had failed to hold onto Joseph Mandela’s effort.

Proline had chances to turn the game onto its head but Katende was on hand to save the hosts.

With the game headed for a draw, Mustafa Mujuzi appeared to have tripped Karim Ndugwa prompting the center referee to point to the spot. Up stepped Sekajugo who converted to ensure Wakiso walks home with victory.

In their next fixture, Wakiso Giants visit Police FC while Proline also host the Cops.
