Vipers SC have registered a deserved 4-1 win over Calvary FC to reach the semifinals of the the 49 edition of Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Yunus Sentamu and Abubaker Lawal netted a brace each to send the two time competition winners into the last four.
Junior Andama scored the only goal for Calvary as they bowed out in pain.
It was a brilliant display for Vipers, who are seeking a third consecutive final.
Playing at home, Vipers showed early intent from the word go with Milton Karisa and Karim Ndugwa making endless runs in the final third.
And they got off the mark in style through Sentamu, who scored a beautiful free kick in the 9th minute to break the deadlock and end his long goal-drought.
The Venoms continued with their dominance and it paid off with two more quick goals.
Lawal doubled his side’s lead in the 16th minute thanks to a nice interplay from Mpongo.
Sentamu completed his brace with a nice curler, for the game’s third, from outside the box.
The hosts, who were at the receiving end later pulled one back at the stroke of half time through Andama from a well taken free kick.
But after the restart, Lawal added the fourth through the spot after Karisa was brought down in the area, in what was the last nail for Calvary.
They now join Police FC at the semi final stage, who ejected defending champions BUL FC earlier this week.
