Vipers Sc Suffered a 1-0 defeat against Simba Sc in a CAF champions group C encounter played Under floodlights at St Mary’s Stadium kitende on Saturday 25th February 2023.
Defender Inonga Baka gave the visitors the lead in the 20th minute with a close range header and this means Vipers Sc are now on a six game run with out a goal under new Coach Beto Bianchi (540) minutes.
This was the first meeting between Vipers Sc and Simba Sc in the Competition although they had previously faced off at the 2011 CECAFA Club quarter final in Tanzania with Simba prevailing 2-1 over Vipers Sc.
Defender Inonga had one of the best performances in the game and reacted quickly to tap home after Muhammad Hussein free kick was headed in his path in the 20th minute.
Roberto Oliveira’s Side were dominant in terms of creating opportunities and should have scored more had Clautus Chama, Prosper kibu, Moses Phiri and Said Ntimbanzonkiza from Burundi took their Chances.
For Vipers Sc who are still Struggling to find the net, their best Chance fell to Yunus Sentamu but reacted late after goal keeper Aisha Manula Spilled Milton Karisa shot.
The big Concern for the Venoms who are now on bottom of the group with One point in three games will be the injury of Milton Karisa who was limping before half time after being substituted with Ibrahim Orit.
It was however a perfect return for former Vipers Sc coach Robertinho whose side registered their 1st points in CAF champions League group stages this term.
Vipers Sc next game in the Competition will be against Simba Sc in Tanzania at the National Stadium, Dar es salaam on 8th march.However, on 1st march a league game against Arua Hill awaits them.
