Vipers SC 1 – 0 Onduparaka FC

Vipers SC registered their first win under the guidance of new appointed tactician, Fred Kajoba with a 1-0 hard fought victory against Onduparaka and stretched the lead Atop with five points.

At St Mary’s Kitende, skipper Geoffrey Wasswa scored the only goal that released pressure off ‘Mama Maria’ believing tactician Fred Kajoba.

That 57th minute freekick sunk the struggling Caterpillars.

Vipers SC got their first sniff at Oduparaka goal in the 14th minute but Musissi’s header parried off the cross bar.

At this point, the game picked great pace and Vipers looked to have more intent going forward. Paul Mucureezi found the best chance of the game but his volley shoot went off the target by inches and missed to break the dreadlock.

Both teams were held to a goalless draw by the end of the first stanza
Despite Onduparaka FC struggling in the first half they stepped up the gear in the second stanza but were still far from the usual best.

Just 12 mintes into the second half, the caterpillars’ worst fears were realized when the referee awarded them a freekick.

The Venoms Skipper Geofrey Wasswa stepped up to break the dreadlock with a beauteous well delivered freekick and hence found the back of the net as hosts took the lead.

Onduparaka picked up once again as the game came to an end and created a number of chances but were unlucky to convert any!

Vipers SC stay first and title leaders, five points ahead of rivals KCCA SC who lost to URA FC on Friday.

On the other hand , Onduparaka stay in fifth place with 30 points after 20 games played.

Fred Kajooba ‘s charges found their first win since introduction of new boss.
