Wakiso Giants FC appoint Deo Sserwadda as the new head coach.

The former SC Villa and Busiro FC tactician Deo Sserwada aka Kajjambiya’ replaces Livingstone Mbabazi whose contract was terminated last weekend.

This was confirmed by the club on Friday afternoon.

“The head coach of Wakiso Giants FC Charles Livingstone Mbabazi has departed the club as of today after mutual agreement with the Board over a series of poor results and other factors, reads th statement released by Wakiso Giants FC.

“We are therefore very grateful and thank coach Mbabazi and his members of the Technical team for the work done during their tenure at the club and wish them the best in their future endevours.

“In that regard, the club has appointed Deo Sserwadda to take over as the head coach on interim basis till the end of the season when a permanent technical staff will be named. Sserwadda will work with Steven Bengo and Ali Kiggundu as assistant and Goalkeeping coach respectively.”

It was reported by PM Daily, on Monday, that Mbabazi had been sacked by Wakiso Giants FC but confirmation has been pending as terms in his contract had to be sorted first.

Mbabazi joined Wakiso in November 2019 and failed to live up to expectations as per the standards of the Purple Sharks.

He was absent iin the 5-0 victory over MYDA FC in the Uganda Cup on Tuesday, a game that Steven Bengo took charge of.

The former Mbarara City FC and Onduparaka FC head coach replaced Kefa Kisala who was also sacked inthe first round.

By the time of Sserwadda’s arrival, Wakiso occupy 10th on the Uganda Premier League standings.

They have gathered 25 points from their first 21 games and sit just three (points) above the relegation zone.

Sserwadda’s first assignment will be at home to Maroons FC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakissha on Tuesday 18.
