High Court sitting in Entebbe has on October 31 sentenced Godfrey Wamala aka Troy, a key suspect in the death of local musician Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowezey Radio to 14 years in jail.
Justice Jane Frances Abodo on Monday found Troy guilty of the manslaughter of the artiste saying that there was no malice aforethought in killing the musician.
Justice Abodo ruled that Wamala spends 13 years, 3 months and 4 days in jail minus the one year, eight months and 26 days he has spent at Kigo Prison.
The judge informed Wamala that he has a right to appeal the judgment within 14 days from the day of delivery of the sentence.
While convicting him on Monday, Justice Abodo noted that Wamala linked himself at the scene of a crime when he admitted he was present at the time when the incident happened and said he saw two men beating up Mowezey.
Prosecution led by Joseph Kyomuhendo adduced evidence from nine witnesses testifying that on January 22, 2018, at a famous hang out in Entebbe -Debar, Troy lifted up Mowzey Radio and banged him down causing him (Radio) to sustain a head injury which later led to his death on February 1, 2018.
