The Member of Parliament for Kayadondo East Hon. Muwada Nkunnyingi has given KCCA an ultimatum of 24 hours to address the problem of flooding and compensating the in Lusanja Kiteezi people in wakiso district where they dump their garbage.
He sounded this today while checking on people who are diverstated by the floods in Lusanja. According to the residents the courts of Laws passed a resolution to KCCA to compensate the affected citizens.
Hon. Nkunyingi said, “KCCA up to now they have not yet compensated these people, they have also not come out with any proper statement in regarding to these issues.
And Today, our plans of speaking to them ended in vein. “Hon. Muwada added.
The residents pin KCCA for dumping rubbish in this place which have block the water channel leading the water to flooding into their homes hence suffering and.
KCCA has failed to widen the water channels so as water can easily move but instead they dumb the rubbish which have blocked the water from flowing freely which courses floods into homes.
The many residents have run away from their houses since the water has filled the houses. And they others are in fear to get diseases as a result of poor sanitation and stagnant dirty water flowing in their houses.
It’s on this point Nkunyingi says if KCCA doesn’t respond to the compensation of these people he may organize the residents to close the road and immediately stop KCCA from dumping their rubbish in Kiteezi.
The heavy rainfall now days have caused rounds of flooding in Kampala, wakiso and other surroundings areas especially those one in low lands.
