Woodball receives sh20m from ICPAU as the 13 edition Woodball Junior championship set for Saturday 17 June at Njeru

Uganda Woodball Federation has got no excuse not to organise junior competitions that give the young generation opportunity to explore their talents.

This follows the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) committing sh20m to this year’s edition of the Junior Woodball Championship.

The championship which is in its 13 editions will be hosted by Amazima School in Njeru Town Council, Buikwe district on June 17.

The tournament has attracted 1,000 participants from 40 schools in the boys’ and girls’ categories.

Uganda Woodball Federation president Paul Mark Kayongo lauded ICPAU for the generous and continuous support of the sport of woodball and assured them of proper accountability.

“We are grateful to ICPAU for the continuous support for the Junior Woodball Championship. Their support has played a vital role in the growth of the sport in Uganda,” Kayongo said.

Leonard Lubambula, the sports Director of Amazima School confirmed the school’s readiness to host the one-day tournament.

“The venue has been well repaired and we are confident shall provide a conducive environment for the competitors,” Lubambula said.

Mpoma Girls, Airforce, Buziga Islamic, Kyambogo College, Luzira Secondary, St. Joseph Nagalama, Trinity College Nabbingo, and hosts Amazima School are some of the secondary school categories participants.

The primary school category includes; Ahmadiyya, Gayaza Junior, Kyazanga Modern, Njeru Central, St. Francis Junior School Buddo, Motherwell, Kazo Church of Uganda Primary Sch, and Nalinya Lwantale Primary School.
