The death of Michael Kalinda aka Zigy Wine is still a matter being investigated by Kampala Metropolitan Police.
According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, Zigy Wine was involved in an accident July 21, 2019.
Zigy Wine was badly injured in the accident and later was identified and admitted to Rubaga Hospital. He was later referred to Mulago Hospital where he succumbed to injuries he had sustained from the accident.
“The death of Zigy Wine is a matter being investigated by the Kampala Metropolitan Police. What they’ve since established is that on the 21st of July 2019 at around 7:30 pm, a speeding motorcycle Honda heading in the direction of Kyebando knocked a lady and a gentleman,” said Enanga.
“The gentleman who was badly injured (crushed his head on the right-hand side of the motorcycle) neither had identification nor phone with him. He was later identified as Michael Alinda or commonly known as Zigy Wine. His relatives identified him and admitted him to Rubaga Hospital,” he added.
Enanga said they were able to get the motorcycle that caused the accident, but the number plate had gone off as well as a few other parts. The number plate was recovered later.
According to Police Zigy Wine knocked a pedestrian with his motor cycle Reg. No. UDC 434W Honda. The bike has been brought to CPS Kampala to show it to the Journalists.
