Leaders in Zombo Okoro county in west Nile strongly believe that it is in Zombo that the NRM party had a strong footing for years as a result of massive support,  they re-appeal to government that people in this area should be rewarded by giving Paidha town council a municipal status, as a token of appreciation for their love and support towards the NRM party.

This comes at a time when Paidha leaders have been asking for the town to be elevated to a municipality level for a period of over 20 years without their request being considered.

The area MP for Okoro county Hon. Gabriel Okumu, noted that elevating Paidha town council to municipal level will lead to the increased investments as the population in the town  council is high and other related factors make it worth a municipal status, which will come with a lot of opportunities  to the people in the area.

The State Minister for Northern Uganda, Hon. Grace Freedom Kwiocwiny and former woman MP for Zombo district encouraged leaders to join hands and forward their request as one, putting in mind the developmental activities.
