
Uganda’s senior men national basketball team, the Silverbacks beat Rwanda 77-71 in last Zone Five Championship game at Lugog Indoor stadium.
Playing a round robin tournament, Rwanda needed nothing but victory over Uganda to finish on top of the five team table.

Uganda’s victory confirmed Kenya as the 2019 Zone Five basketball Champions, an achievement which guaranteed them a ticket to the inaugural AFROCAN to be held in Bamako, Mali from July 19 – 28.
Both Kenya and Egypt finish the tournament having won three of the four games but Kenya clinch the title courtesy of a better head to head as they beat Egypt 97-79.

The Uganda’s Silverbacks finish third, Rwanda settle for fourth and Tanzania who lost all game came settled for the bottom slot .
