6 YEARS OFOYURU LOST AS UGANDA INTERNATIONAL JUNIORS CHALLENGE KICKED -OFF AT LUGOGO

The 6 years old , Ethan Ofoyuru who is the youngest player in this year’s Uganda International Juniors Challenge played at Lugogo indoor stadium. Ethan, a primary two at St. Peters Nsambya , a son of coach Gilbert lost 2:0 to Hassan Jamilu Makinda from Iganga.

The Championship kicked off today after the conclusion of Uganda International Challenge with 109 participants in total from seven countries with Uganda entered the largest numbers of participants 93, followed by India and Mauritius with 5 each, Egypt, 2, Myanmar, 2, United Arab Emirates, 1 and Zambia, 1.

The Championship which started today will come to climax on Wednesday, February 28 at the same venue.

Coach Gilbert, a father to Ofoyuru said that the boy is still young ,he still has a lot to learn and i have a hope on him in future.

“My opponent was older than me and he had a lot of experience so i could not overcome him”, Ofoyuru states.

Uganda International Juniors Challenge is always organised after Uganda International Challenges every year.

” We are expecting a good championship “, CEO of Uganda badminton association Simon Mugabi states.
