 Premier Nabanjja, Gen. Katumba, More than 1800 others graduate as Nkumba University held the 25th graduation ceremony

Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of Uganda, has on Thursday 27th October 2023 afternoon, graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation from Nkumba University in Entebbe.

At the same event, Hon. Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, the Minister for Works and Transport, was awarded an honorary doctorate for his outstanding contribution to the country.

The chancellor of Nkumba University, Mr. Emmanuel Katongole said, there is need for private Universities to be given the same priority as public Universities.

“Each of these institutions share a common goal of educating Ugandans. Every student enrolled in these institutions contribute to the progressive development our nation and region at large, therefore there should be a levelled and fair services such as financial resources. ”Mr. Katongole cited.

The vice chancellor of the University, prof. Jude Lubega said, 1857 students graduated in different disciplines including degrees, diplomas and certificates.

53% of the graduates are female and 47% are male students. 15 graduated with Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), 236 Masters, 185 post graduate, 997 bachelors, 247 diplomas and 177 certificates.

Prof. Lubega asked graduates to continue learning and upgrade themselves with technology in order to keep a breast with the current artificial intelligence led working environment after graduation.

The Prime Minister, who was also the Chief Guest at this event, said she’s been equipped with more knowledge and skills to do her work. And urged fellow graduates to harness all the opportunities that come before them to attain success in job sector.

“I congratulate you all who have graduated today from this University and asking you to use the knowledge and skills you have acquired to contribute to the development of our country.

 More than 1800 students have graduated. This was Nkumba University’s 25th graduation ceremony held at main campus in Entebbe.
