The biggest motor rally event in Uganda, the pearl of Africa rally which is the third rally on National rally Champion (NRC) and on Africa Rally Champion (ARC) have been launched today at kabira country club ,Bukoto.
80 million Uganda shillings have been injected in this year’s pearl of Africa Uganda rally which is scheduled kick start on Friday, 10 May with day one which will include ecru it engineering in Wairaka, Busoga region and day two on Saturday which will feature seven stages and then will climax with three stages in day three on Sunday.
According to Clark of the Course (COC), Omar Mayanja ,the rally will run a total competitive distance of 209.45 km.
Over thirty entries that includes; current National championship leader Jonas Kansiime and other former National Champions Jas Mangat,Ronald Sebuguzi ,Ponsiano Lwakataka have been registered drawing more of the rally’s rich history and competitive spirit.
According to event manager Jimmy Akena who is the new FMU president said that “Am glad to have tirelessly worked with Dipu and team to see the event takes place.What i can assure the stakeholders is that we will have wonderful event. Safety of crews and fans remains our major priority”.
Some of the drivers who have registered includes;
Musa Ssegaabwe, Niwagaba Tumwebaze, Harunah Kataza, Haji Ahmed Senyonjo, Faisal Kayira, Rashid Makumbi, Oscar Ntambi, Moustapha Mukasa, Abasi Mayinja, Kuku Ranjit Singh, Unissan Bakunda, Godfrey Nsereko, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Ronald Ssebuguzi ,Jas Magnat, Hassan Alwi.
