The Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga has congraculated the kick boxer Juma Jantuuyo upon his Victory for the medal in the World All Fights System Organisations where he defeated Ivan Koreta on 31/12/2023 in Bugiri.
During his meeting with Juma and his team at Bulange Mengo, the Katikkiro arged the youth to make sure they exploit the talents they have and work towards developing them so that they can gain from them.
The Katikkiro emphasised that talents can benefit people in different ways such as entertainment, source of income, tourist attraction, government revenue among others as people need to make use of them.
He encouraged Juma not to give up but to put in more efforts and add on what he has to get to higher levels, but above all, be well disciplined right from the trainers, judges and the fans.
Minister for the youth and talents in Buganda Kingdom Owek Robert Sserwanga Salongo has commended Juma Jantuuyo for respecting the King’s directive of hardwork to the youth since engaging in sports is a source of income. And urged the youth to look at sports as activities that can lead them to victory and development.
Juma Jantuuyo extended gratitute towards the Katikkiro of Buganda for the encouraging words which have kept him moving and all people who have supported him during his journey including his coach, the media and others. He added that they chose to take the competitions to Bugiri as away of making the game known not only to Kampala people but allover the country.
