The former Ugandan boxers under their umbrella, the Legends Boxers Association conducted their first ever General Assembly at Police CID headquarters hall, Kibuli.
The boxers who currently undergo terrible life ,argued to all well-wishers to come and give them a hand which will help them in their day- day life.
Among the issues discussed, was the issue of introducing tournaments where some legends will perform their skills and these tournaments will help the Association to earn some money which will help the members.
Police boxing club ,has agreed to give free boxing gym to all legends who will wish to come and train.
Among the legends boxers who attended the meeting were, Brian Mayanja, the former Bombers, Painetto Omitta, Abdul Kasozi, Joyce Laloyo, Dan Kasole , Police boxing club coach, Charles Kasumba ‘China’.
According to Charles Kasumba ‘China’, who is the chairman of this Association, said that the purpose of organising this group is to get funds to help us because who are lived a terrible life. Kasumba, went on to say that they suffered a lot during covid-19 period where no one came to their rescue while professional boxers were helped by mayor Salim Uhuru and amaetur boxers were helped by Moses Muhangi.
